Well, tonight I am going to start a series of rants that I just need to let go of and let other people weigh in on the topics. Tonight: The Kerry Bashing.
It all started with a two simple lines from Senator John Kerry: "If you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you can get stuck in Iraq.
Yes, most of us agree that Kerry was a little far-fetched on that statement. Most people that are in Iraq are there to protect our freedoms, stand for our country, and protect the rest of us who are too chicken to even think about flying in that direction. Apparently according to Senator Kerry's words, the 2,800 people that died over in Iraq we're not smart enough and were "stuck in Iraq." According to Kerry, this was a joke, a misinterpreted one at that, but was it really meant to be a joke?
Bush basically did get us stuck in a war in Iraq and with no plan to get us out of there anytime and let innocent soldiers die and let their families grieve. The recent removal of troops from a blockade by the Iraqi government, and according to Olbermann, the Secretary of Defense didn't know? Should Rumsfeld, for all he's worth, be the first one to know? He shouldn't be sitting out on a lawn chair in the sun, have somebody tell him to come inside, and him just seeing this removal on national television? Something is definatly wrong here, and it leads to the miscommunication of one person: the "Head Honcho."
But onto the real debate, deciding whether Kerry should have apologized or not. Kerry probably wouldn't have had to apologize if the Bush Administration didn't take it like he was a terrorist or something. I, personally, don't believe Kerry should have had to apologize because it was, supposedly, misunderstood..
Now if you watched Keith Olbermann's special comment on tonight's "Countdown" on MSNBC, you could see the anger and sadness building up in his mind and he's a man who is saying it all truthfully. Kerry and Olbermann both agree that Bush owe our troops an apology for the war he has gotten America into.
I will even go as far as to saying myself that Bush owe our troops and our citizens an apology for getting us stuck in this mess and having to live with this chaos going on around the world. Making the families of the soldier go on with their lives as if they're husband, wife, son or daughter have not gone to Iraq or have died protecting this country in a war that has no plan to pull troops out at all, or any strategy for slowing this war down at all.
Bush has let all of America down, and possibly the world, seeing as the United States is quite possibly the most powerful country in the world. Him not taking responsibility for his own mistakes many people have seen, this is going to be a long two years.
